The Canada International Annual Youth Public Speaking Contest, now in its 7th year, has grown into a cherished tradition, celebrating the voices and talents of young speakers aged 6-17. Established to nurture confidence and communication skills, the contest has witnessed inspiring speeches and remarkable growth, becoming a cornerstone event that highlights the potential and passion of our youth. 

The Canada International Public Speaking Contest offers exciting rewards: cash prizes for winners in the younger grade divisions and an invitation to the prestigious Stanford Invitational Contest for the oldest grade division. This contest celebrates excellence in public speaking, encouraging young orators to showcase their talents on a global stage.

This year’s theme is “Co-existing with AI.” Register now at www.u-speak.ca, and receive a $15 discount if you do so before July 31!

  • Divisions:
    • Bantam — Gr. 1-5
    • Junior — Gr. 6-8
    • Senior — Gr. 9+
  • Speaking time:
    • Preliminaries
      • Bantam — 1 minute
      • Junior — 2 minutes
      • Senior — 3 minutes
    • Semi-finals and finals
      • Bantam — 3 minutes
      • Junior — 5 minutes
      • Senior — 7 minutes
  • Format:
    • Online
    • Present a video delivering your speech
    • You can pick any topic relating to “Co-existing with AI”
    • You may, but are not required to, use aids like PowerPoint, props, cue cards, etc. and will be judged on their use if you choose to do so
